1871 seeks a professionally driven, creative, and highly motivated social media intern to support its content creation strategy.

Duties and responsibilities

The Social Media Intern role will be responsible for populating, organizing, and scheduling 1871's and 1871's member content. They will have a keen eye for details and knowledge of the latest social media trends to increase engagement and brand awareness.

On top of the latest and greatest social media trends, this role will brainstorm, write, and edit a wide range of 1871 content, including social media, event promotion, and blog features.

  • 80% Scheduling
  • 10% Content management
  • 10% Researching

Requirements

  • Brand experience or a keen eye for details
  • Sprout Social or Hootsuite
  • Asana or other project management software
  • Strong organizational skills
  • History of receiving and implementing feedback
  • Strong interest in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship
  • Self-starter and ability to work autonomously and in cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Basic computer processing skills, including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • College coursework or previous internship experience is preferred but not required

Time: Monday - Thursday, 10 am-4 pm (hours and time commitment may be flexible if agreed upon by the supervisor and the internship candidate prior to the start of the internship)
