We are looking to hire a Ramp;D Engineer I. In this role your goal is to improve system performance and customer experience while cutting down on manufacturing times and cost. You will work on an interdisciplinary team to design and conduct experiments and simulations on our system. You will use the data from your experiments to recommend design or operational improvements to hardware and software features and systems, always keeping the customer in mind.

The Ramp;D team works in and between multiple disciplines. Dropette’s product is a complex hardware-software system. Systems-thinking and the ability to evaluate a problem and the possible solutions from multiple perspectives is essential.

Requirements

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop test methods and fixtures to demonstrate electro-mechanical medical device designs meet design requirements, utilizing CAD as needed
  • Perform design and development of mechanical, electrical and software components for Ramp;D test fixtures
  • Execute and document testing of engineering prototypes
  • Procure components and assemble prototypes as needed to support product development and research programs
  • Perform design and development tasks within area of specialty (electrical, mechanical or software) for medical devices
  • Develop tolerance stack analysis, production prints, component specifications, inspection and acceptance criteria, and production documentation as needed
  • Assist in the development, fabrication and assembly of manufacturing fixtures and assembly processes
  • Manage contractors and vendors who support with compliance testing, design analysis, metrology and related deliverables
  • Contribute to risk analysis, including dFMEA
  • Participate in design reviews

What We Seek:

  • 1-2 years of engineering experience is required (co-op or internship experience counts!)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering preferred or biomedical engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work hands on to develop and assemble devices and fixtures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, prioritizing shared goals
