Job Summary

As Spartan’s Pre-Construction Manager, you will be located at our corporate headquarters and will support the acquisitions and SCM (Spartan Construction Management) in pre-construction planning, conceptual and detailed estimating. The position will include estimating, sourcing subcontractors, compiling estimates and supporting project execution. This is a new position within our quickly growing organization and is an exciting opportunity to take ownership and build out our SCM infrastructure. We need someone who is a self-learner, a builder of processes, and comfortable maintaining a work-life balance in a fast-paced high-growth environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing the acquisitions team with conceptual estimates to support the initial Letter of Intent process.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering firms, SCM project management, and local subcontractors to provide detailed project estimates.
  • Lead the design phase utilizing existing data to maximize the properties potential.
  • Source firm bids from local subcontractors.
  • Vette local subcontractors for performance, cost, and quality.
  • Develop discipline scopes of work to be used for estimating and contracting.
  • Support the subcontractor selection and contracting process.
  • Provide pre-construction support to the project execution team.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local codes, laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
  • Assist in annual planning and program build out.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Management or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of estimating experience.
  • A drive to learn and do as much as possible in an entrepreneurial setting.
  • Ability to use one’s own autonomy and creativity to be macro managed with mentorship.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Some travel will be required.

Benefits

Compensation and Benefits: salary range $75,000 - $95,000 annually, health/dental/vision benefits, profit sharing, unlimited PTO, flex office hours, wellness amp; transportation reimbursement, annual ski pass, continuing education reimbursement, and other perks with an all-star team and culture.
