Job Description

Summary:

The Desktop Support technician reports to the CIO and has no direct reports. Individuals in this position will be expected to train and mentor other Micross personnel in the use of hardware and software. The Desktop Support Technician is the first level of Micross’ IT support structure. As such, this person needs to have good customer service skills, be able to take information regarding systems issues and handle or escalate issues as applicable.

Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities:

  • Configure and deploy new or replacement hardware and software
  • Assist with creating the quarterly computer replacement order
  • Maintain tracking systems for computer hardware and software
  • Address user concerns via helpdesk ticketing system. For example:
    • Review and update Active Directory permissions
    • Work with users to troubleshoot connection issues with servers, switches and firewalls
    • Access email systems to release quarantined email and update email routing lists
  • Assist other members of the department on larger projects (may involve travel)
  • Assist with the deployment of IP phone systems and individual cellular phones
  • Use network monitoring tools to troubleshoot issues
  • Review telecom billing as assigned
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Comply with all quality and ITAR policies, practices and procedures.
  • Build meaningful and productive relationships with internal business partners.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of 3rd parties.
  • Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of computer, phone and networking systems
  • Ability to travel when needed
  • Due to export control rules, must be a US citizen.
