Job Description

JMP is seeking an experienced Analyst to join its Technology Investment Banking Group in San Francisco. The Technology Investment Banking Analyst will be involved in all facets of JMP’s investment banking activities and will play an integral role supporting the origination and execution of a broad range of transactions, including private and public financings (equity, equity-linked and debt), mergers and acquisitions and other advisory services across the TMT group.

The specific responsibilities of the Analyst include, but are not limited to, financial analysis and modeling, conducting industry and company-specific research, coordinating the various processes involved in a financing or sale, and the preparation of pitch materials, client presentations, offering memoranda, proposals, and other written materials for meetings with clientele.

JMP offers junior banking professionals the opportunity to work closely with senior bankers and have direct interaction with current and prospective clients within JMP’s technology coverage universe, spanning enterprise software, internet amp; digital media, cybersecurity and alternative energy. The Technology team is an active underwriter of IPOs and follow-on offerings including Datadog, Lyft, Snowflake, and Uber. Additionally, the team has been a leading adviser to firms regarding mergers, acquisitions, and capital raises such as the sale of Portshift to Cisco and the sale of Tapingo to Grubhub.

Requirements

  • Live in, or ability to relocate to, San Francisco (at the appropriate time)
  • 1-3 years of directly related investment banking experience, particularly within technology coverage universe.
  • Software or TMT experience is a plus but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree with outstanding academic achievement preferably in fields of finance, economics, engineering, computer science or related field
  • High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Product Suite including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and team working skills
  • Superior work ethic
  • Series 63 amp; 79 licensing preferred (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • US work authorization required
