The Staff Accountant Tax will be an integral part of the Finance team partnering with the Controller and CFO on tax related areas. A key function of this role will be management of the sales and use tax, as well as general accounting responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Sales tax
- Sales tax filing included amended filings
- Sales tax exemption management
- Sales tax general ledger reconciliation
- Sales tax research and audit
- Prepare and file Missouri Use Tax
- Sovos Management/NetSuite Implementation
- Business license management
- Annual report filing
- Manage Personal property tax
- Fixed asset management
- Prepare and complete monthly journal entries
- Oversee Corporate income tax payments and reconciliations
- Back up Accounts Payable and Royalty payment as needed
- Prepare and file 1099 forms
- Utilize 10825 Quickbooks
Requirements
Professional Requirements
- 3-5 years of prior sales accounting and sales tax experience
- Must be highly organized and attentive to detail
- Skilled in research and analysis
- Review and analyze tax impact of new Swank products
- Job discreetness and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to move back and forth between tasks
- Ability to multi-task, deal with interruptions and frequently changing priorities, while meeting deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal correspondence
- Commitment to detailed financial accounting and reporting
- Understanding that individual priorities may take a back seat to customer needs and overall company goals
- Other projects/tasks as assigned based on needs
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Substantial experience with an ERP (G/L, A/P, A/R, etc.), NetSuite experience a plus.
