The Opportunity Afterpay is building a series of new products based on virtual credit cards. Afterpay partners with tens of thousands of merchants around the world to deliver these new fintech experiences to consumers. Our successful partnerships rely on our ability to understand the flow of transactions, reconcile data between partners, and ultimately settle with merchants: we want to be fast, flexible, and able to provide reporting and insights on merchants’ transactions.
As Afterpay’s Product Manager, Card Settlements you'll drive our card settlement technology team. You'll be responsible for defining how we can best address our merchants’ needs and leading the team on execution. Additionally, you'll partner with sales, merchant services, design, analytics and engineering teams to define end-to-end solutions to help merchants and Afterpay grow their business.
The PM will be familiar with a wide range of retail and ecommerce tactics, platforms and technologies. The PM will define success metrics and go-to-market strategies to create value for our customers, merchant partners and Afterpay. This PM will own product definition and rollout globally.
We are much more than our job descriptions, but here’s where you will begin.• Understand the needs of omnichannel merchants and build innovative experiences that allow merchants and Afterpay to manage their businesses and drive growth• Work cross-functionally with our business development, sales, merchant services, design, analytics and engineering teams globally to drive value for consumers, merchants and Afterpay• Define success measures and prioritize key initiatives to drive merchant growth across all platforms and geographies• Build a strategy for supporting merchants as Afterpay develops and rolls out new product initiatives• Drive process improvement as well as product development to improve the end-to-end experience for our merchant partners• Work with data and partner teams to ensure that we have proper end-to-end instrumentation to measure and improve experiences• Serve as a point person for your product area across the organization and influence key stakeholders throughout Afterpay to align intent, prioritization and resources
Minimum Qualifications• 4-5+ years of software product management experience • Experience building products in ecommerce or payments• Excellent communication skills. Bias to action. Ability to build relationships at all levels across the company and really learn what drives the business• Self-starter and a track record of delivering results across the finish line• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with global teams• Comfortable in high-growth environments where priorities can shift as we unlock the tools that drive growth
Preferred Qualifications• Familiarity with credit card networks and payment flows• Familiarity with merchants’ technology stacks - ecommerce platforms, payment gateways or order management systems• Experience leading and working with geographically dispersed teams• Be brave. Be curious. Be cool. Be humble. A sense of humor, a willingness to laugh at danger and an appreciation of the ironic are all pluses
