Job Description

About Quizlet:
Inspired by our belief that anyone can learn anything and powered by our own curiosity, we build the smartest tools we can imagine to help students learn.
Quizlet is the popular, global learning platform and app that millions of students, teachers and everyday people use to study any subject imaginable for school, work or as part of their personal interests -- including two-thirds of high school students and half of all college students in the US. Combining cognitive science and machine learning, Quizlet guides students through adaptive study activities to confidently reach their learning goals. We’re on track to become the undisputed leader in user-generated learning content and engagement, at the scale of YouTube.
Valued at $1 billion, Quizlet has raised over $60 million in venture capital from investors including Icon Ventures, Union Square Ventures, General Atlantic, Costanoa Ventures, Owl Ventures, and Altos Ventures.
To serve our global community of learners, our teams tackle lofty technical challenges and design for use cases across cultures and languages. We work hard, act like owners, and collaborate every chance we get. We’re energized by the potential to power more learners through multiple approaches and various tools.
With offices in major cities around the world and ambitious plans for expansion, we remain grounded in our commitment to our mission of helping people learn. We’re looking for new team members who crave a challenge and want to help us continue amplifying our impact. If you’d like to learn more, reach out at or visit our careers page.
Quizlet’s marketing team is tasked with introducing Quizlet to the next 50 million learners (and beyond!). We work closely with product, user operations, business development and other teams to ensure that everyone who should be using Quizlet has heard about it. Our product marketing team's charter is to know our customers and understand what they want, bring those insights into the product development process, and then use those same insights to deliver compelling go-to-market and launch activities.
As a senior product marketing manager at Quizlet, you’ll be responsible for bringing Quizlet product's to market end-to-end, from crafting user insights to perfecting positioning to developing launch plans and then seeing them through. You’ll approach marketing with a growth mindset, create a vision for how to get Quizlet products used by millions of students, and then work with a cross-functional team to execute against that vision.
On a daily basis, you’ll partner with product management, product analytics and other marketers to help inform product roadmap decisions and strategy. You’ll be equally comfortable diving into market research efforts as you are working A/B test ideas into a product-engineering roadmap or talking about why an SEO strategy may or may not work. As an excellent writer, you will bring a passion for high-quality marketing and communications programs and thrive working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.About the role:
  • Partner with product management, product analytics, product design and engineering to bring Quizlet's products to market
  • Work across our free and paid product to ensure clear feature differentiation and positioning.
  • Determine feature messaging, and go-to-market strategy for new products
  • Work closely with marketing creative, lifecycle marketing, communications and other cross functional marketers to bring campaigns to life
  • Find new ways to continually deliver value from our existing product to our student and teachers users
  • Be the expert on our student customers; drive market research and understanding, user insights and empathy and stronger product development

  • Strong leadership qualities with a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Excellent analytical skills with a test and learn mindset
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Comfort with ambiguity, uncertainty, and a rapidly evolving business landscape
  • Experience building creative go-to-market strategies for consumer products (bonus if those products are in the education, marketplace, or subscription space)
Bonus points if:
  • Experience developing strong customer education marketing
  • Comfortable with lifecycle marketing best practices including email, push, and onsite channels
  • Experience working within a freemium business model
