Your role:

We are looking for an experienced Editor who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field, to join our small but growing Editorial team.

This will be a challenging role supporting technical team members to develop their writing skills and editorial team members to develop excellent editing skills. You will also provide support for the proofreading team in times of high demand.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Editing, formatting and proofreading content for client deliverables and internal company documents
  • Copy edit posters and manuscripts for publication including checking for consistent and correct language use, and redrafting e.g. sentence, paragraph and whole document structure
  • Ensuring that documents are in line with house or client style (as appropriate)
  • Mentoring new writers
  • Developing and delivering training materials for editorial team members
  • Mentoring editors and providing one-to-one supports and feedback on their work


Requirements

Your skills:

You will be an attentive and detail-oriented person with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently within time constraints and deadlines. We are looking for someone who can communicate information clearly, ask relevant questions and work effectively within a team.

You will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience editing or writing within a scientific, medical or technical field
  • A high standard of professional written English
  • High levels of concentration, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • A keen interest in reading and reviewing medical research and pharmacoeconomics-related documents
  • A degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to provide diplomatic and concise written comments
  • A positive attitude to team work

You will have a distinct advantage if you have:

  • A biomedical science degree
  • Agency experience
