Requirements

The Financial Navigator assists patients with billing account management and collaborates with external parties to ensure financial coverage for new patients. Working independently, the Financial Navigator will explain financial information, maintain financial records, and follow up with patients and other parties to ensure accuracy and completeness of information.

Some day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Manage cryopreservation storage billing accounts, including collecting billing information, processing payments, and reconciling completed payments after each billing cycle
  • Managing payment plan accounts, including collecting billing information, processing payments, and recording completed payments after each billing cycle
  • Third party payor authorization requests, reviewing completed authorization requests for accuracy and uploading in patient record
  • Communicate to internal staff in a clear and concise manner, the financial status of the patient by analyzing and reviewing the patient’s accounts receivables and trying to resolve any issues related to it
  • Appropriately document and report payment
  • Collect estimated liabilities from patients
  • Create and share invoices for patient accounts
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts when explaining to patients
  • Act as a resource representative when questions arise regarding registration errors, proper insurance documentation and accounting correction.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 + years of experience in a healthcare billing department preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices
  • Proficiency in MS Office required
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to manage a flexible work schedule which may include weekends and holidays, with some flexibility to work from home after proven proficency
