Job Description

Are you excited about working with social change entities at the intersection of risk, trust, and community impact? Do you thrive on improving workflows? Do you believe in enabling other people through advising and coaching? GlobalGiving is looking for an empathetic grants manager with a passion for workflow improvement to join our Grants team.

The Associate Manager of Vetting Programs will oversee grants management activities within current program frameworks and grant processes, while also thinking ahead about how to evolve GlobalGiving’s grants management services in support of organizational growth.

The successful candidate will be service-minded and demonstrate people management skills or potential. While we envision this role starting out in a self-directed support role, we do expect opportunities for a successful hire to take on supervisory responsibilities over time.

We have a casual work atmosphere where everyone’s input and ideas are valued. We’re committed to work-life balance and offer everyone opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow. Since creative, enthusiastic employees are our most valued resource and the basis for our success, we take great care in how we attract, hire, and support our employees for a successful career. If you care about collaboration, curiosity, communication excellence, and continuous improvement, this position is right for you.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement grantee communication strategies: Support to hundreds of community changemakers and learn about their work. You will improve, maintain, and work with relevant teams to both ensure a consistent voice in grantee communications and increase grantee engagement resulting from our communication strategy.
  • Grants Management: Oversee an ever-evolving portfolio of 250+ donor-directed grants across multiple regions and programmatic themes, sometimes with support from junior staff. You will be responsible for grantee compliance in every stage of the award process, including proposal and report review.
  • Program Implementation: You understand the multiple constituents in GlobalGiving’s grant programs and consider all when managing programmatic change. You will work with Business Partnership Managers to design grant programs and align funding decisions with GlobalGiving’s North Star. And you will work with Managers of Global Grant Programs to establish, approve, and update policies for delivering grants services to external stakeholders.
  • Scale Systems: Evaluate, develop, and implement grants management workflows and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of program execution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement ways to foster operational excellence in the people, processes, and systems that make up GlobalGiving’s grantmaking activities. You will participate in sector-wide working groups, such as PEAK and GEO, while leading internal working groups, to share learnings from various grantee portfolios.
