Job Description

Hi there! We’re Lemonpie and we’re looking for an experienced, fun, innovative, and entirely game-changing Podcast Producer. We hope you’re the one we’ve been waiting for. The Opportunity

The mission of the Podcast Producer is to advise and lead our Podcast Production clients by providing world-class service and communication, while ensuring their goals are met (and exceeded).

This not only requires an ability to launch and execute a podcast from start to finish, but the ability to truly partner with our Creative Strategy and Production team, to ensure our clients are properly equipped with everything they need to succeed at building a show that’s tailored to their individual goals and style.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Kickoff Process - Once our Strategy team has worked with the client on concept, name, format, competitor and audience research, etc., it’s time for you to take the lead and execute the vision that’s been mapped out. Here’s what this looks like:

    • Align with Strategy - You’ll be the bridge from the Creative Strategy portion of an agreement to the Launch amp; ongoing Production portion. The Strategy team will brief you, of course, but you may also have follow-up questions or additional planning that needs to be done leading up to the Production Kickoff Call. You’ll then use that information, as well as the overall goals of the client, to align with the Production team on next steps.
    • Create Kickoff Call presentation - This is where we go over the communication systems and hosting platform we use, what they can expect next, their preferences on cover art, show notes, etc. You’ll also be the person leading this call.
  • Launch Process - Once the Kickoff Call is wrapped, you will lead the Launch process to get the show live, which includes things like:

    • Follow-up communication - Ensuring clients receive world-class communication, including a follow-up recap after the Kickoff-Call and several touchpoints throughout launch.
    • Create custom Launch timelines - Our detailed plans for what will happen each week leading up to launch, informed by everything discussed and/or decided upon throughout Strategy and the Kickoff Call.
    • Host training and development - Communicating (and providing documentation) on best practices, conducting a mock episode with them, etc. In some cases, this may mean sourcing a host if the brand we’re working with has decided to outsource.
    • Question development - If an interview format, you’ll be crafting questions that can serve as guardrails to guide the conversation. These must be unique and custom, taking into Strategy findings and client goals.
    • Show description - Crafting a custom and engaging summary of the show using keywords and other Strategy findings.
    • Craft 60-second hook - The flow/outline of the show, presented in visual form.
    • Script and record a sample intro - This provides the client with an actual example of what their intro could sound like vs. just writing it out and having them execute it.
    • Write episode 00 script - And meet with the client to go over it if they’d like.
    • Establish the show notes format - We have a great system for this, but taking into account what we’ve learned throughout Strategy and the Kickoff Call will be crucial.
    • Create Guest Prep site - Create a custom, instructional landing page we point guests to once they’ve scheduled. This lets them know what to expect while also representing our client well with a branded and professional site.
    • Craft a Guest Persona - This is essentially an ideal guest profile that includes a sample guest’s custom fit for the show we’re launching.
    • Conduct initial guest prospecting - Our amazing Showrunner will handle ongoing Guest Management, but you’ll be responsible for crafting a list of the initial 50 prospective guests.
    • Craft the Show Blueprint - A comprehensive guide to their show that includes everything from content and runtime, to responsible parties, and a custom marketing strategy.
  • Ongoing Production Process - Leading the overall ongoing production process to ensure our clients are getting the most out of their show post-launch and it is leading to the results they want (awareness, trust, and sales to name a few). Some areas of responsibility may include:

    • Episode Planning - Helping coordinate episode/season planning meetings to ensure each show has the best guest and topic alignment.
    • Content edits - Removing any content bulk to ensure the end result is a well-crafted storyline their audience will love.
    • Publishing - Scheduling episodes to be published through the hosting platform.
    • Prep Guides Strategy - Lead and improve our process for creating in-depth host p
