Apricot Designs Inc. has recently been acquired by SPT Labtech, and is a specialty manufacturer of laboratory equipment and laboratory technology products. We are at the forefront of supplying technology used in Covid-19 testing worldwide. We are an essential business and are currently hiring for a proactive and enthusiastic HR Generalist to provide support across all aspects of HR, including: recruitment, benefits/payroll administration, employee relations, training/development, orientation, HR compliance, and all related activities.
This is a newly created role, reporting into the on-site CFO, with dotted line reporting into Group HR (based in the UK).
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Overseeing recruitment process, including: reviewing employment applications/resumes and arranging/conducting interviews.
- New hire paperwork, including right to work checks.
- Conducting new employee orientations.
- Performing benefit administration, including assisting with inquiries, online enrollment, payroll adjustments, and communication.
- Coordinating payroll.
- Interfacing and communicating with employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Managing leaves of absences, tracking of time-off, and working with management on processes related to absence management.
- Addressing employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and workplace investigations.
- Providing guidance and documentation related to disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Supporting talent management/development and succession planning process.
- Administering off-boarding activities including conducting exit interviews.
- Providing accurate and up to date reporting for Group HR function.
- Participating in any other initiatives within the company as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Human Resources (or related field) preferred, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- HR Certification by an accredited organization preferred.
- 2-5 years of HR Generalist experience, ideally in a similar industry.
- Demonstrable understanding of employment law, recruiting practices, benefits, and state and federal statues regulating human resources functions.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of employees, management and business partners.
- Understanding of confidentiality within the HR department.
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a timely and efficient manner, within a rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Diversity orientated able to work effectively with all employees, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion or job type.
- Knowledge of Verbal Chinese (Mandarin) a plus.
