Job Description

Do you have a passion for fabricating things out of steel and aluminum? Are you ready to take your Machine Operator skills to the next level? If so, then we are searching for you.

We are Mac Metal, a leading metal fabricator based in Germantown, Wisconsin, and we are looking for an experienced Turret Punch - Machine/Set-up Operator. This is an immediate opening with room for advancement.

In this position, you will be responsible for operation of multiple Turret Punch and Combination Laser/Turret Punch machines ensuring equipment is operated safely and efficiently, by continuously monitor machines and support team member to ensure the production of quality parts/products.

As Turret Punch - Machine/Set-up Operator, you will play an integral role in our customer-centric mission supporting daily production requirements while sharing best practices within our team-based work environment.

Requirements

In the position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Proficiently perform Machine Operator essential duties and responsibilities including production.
  • Complete daily setup responsibilities, including entering CNC programs.
  • Complete scheduled Preventative Maintenance on machines and collaborate with outside Service Technicians in diagnosis and troubleshooting to limit machine down-time.
  • Collaborates with others in the daily planning to optimize production schedules and efficiencies.
  • Assist Quality team in checking parts to verify dimensional accuracy and part specifications.
  • Collaborate with other departments/operations to maintain a smooth workflow and make adjustments/recommendations to crewing as required.
  • Works from and interprets drawings/sketches, routings, process control sheets, and sample parts to understand dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, the sequence of operation, and setup requirements.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Machine Tool or CNC programming certification/diploma considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in reading English, understanding sketches/drawings, routings, measurement tools, safety guidelines, math, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Exceptional reasoning skills.
  • Detail oriented and able to support our safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and interest in finding a long-term place to call your work home.
