Colliers Mortgage Holdings (CMH) LLC is a diversified financial services firm that was founded in 1977 and has since been entrusted with $24 billion of client assets. The Human Resources (HR) Assistant will provide administrative, benefit, staffing, and employee relationship support to all CMH business lines: Colliers Securities, Colliers Mortgage, and Colliers Insurance.
Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities
- Assists with the recruitment and interview process that may include job postings, scheduling interviews, and follow-up correspondence
- Assists with new employee orientation including scheduling, preparing new hire items, paperwork and other items as requested
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff
- Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains books are current
- Assists with year-end benefit renewal process and open enrollment
- Conducts research for department as needed on regulations, policies, etc.
- Updates and maintains electronic benefit information available to employees
- Administers tuition reimbursement program, wedding amp; baby gifts, service awards and charitable matching gift program
- Assists in writing the weekly employee newsletter
- Typing, copying, scanning, filing, composing letters and other clerical functions
- Assists with additional HR related special projects as assigned
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
- Associates Degree required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Up to 3 years of preparatory or related experience
- Professional/Financial services experience preferred
- SHRM Certification preferred
Job requirements
- Knowledge of HR theories, practices and laws is required
- Confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with employees is required
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, including senior management is required
- Experience with HRIS systems preferred; experience with UKG (Ulitpro) software a plus
- Experience working in an HR department preferred
- Experience in administration of benefits and other HR programs preferred
- Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail is key
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office products required
