Cartoon Illustrator / Animator Videographer (Contract)

SchooLinks is seeking a Cartoon Illustrator / Animator amp; Videographer for our new Elementary Product. The ideal candidate should have experience designing and animating cartoon characters geared toward elementary aged children. Experience creating short animated videos will also be necessary to be successful in this role. You will be the sole illustrator and videographer on this project, and will be tasked with helping to establish new styles of content on this emerging product.

Duties include

• Designing, illustrating and animating cartoon characters for an elementary software platform
• Creating short animated videos to depict different careers, created to appeal to elementary aged children
• Creating short animated videos to depict different social and emotional skills, created to appeal to elementary aged children
• Meet project deadlines/milestones, as set by the project manager

Requirements

• Strong understanding of the principles of animation
• Strong knowledge of visual design theory and fundamentals (e.g. Art and Visual Perception, Color theory, Form, Branding)
• Organized and clean animation workflow
• Ability to composite and animate in After Effects
• Animate characters, creatures, and effects that are impactful and efficient
• Strong art portfolio, demonstrating expertise in illustration, cartoons, videography
• Proficient in Adobe After Effects, and familiarity with other Adobe Creative Suite programs
• Ability to produce exceptional content while working individually with minimal supervision
• Extremely detail-oriented, able and willing to refine work to a high degree of polish
