Job Description

Who is Xodus?

Xodus Group is an international energy consultancy, founded on an integrated approach to energy challenges. Our expert scientific, engineering and advisory teams work on projects supporting clients across the globe using intelligent thinking to overcome challenges, promote sustainability, minimise environmental impact and maximise return on investment. We work across the energy sector addressing the global mix of energy infrastructure projects and innovative technology opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Renewables Division (in Boston or Houston), as an engineer for offshore wind project development. As a motivated and energised individual, you take ownership of technical work packages, as well as take part in business development activities. We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of the design cycle of offshore wind projects (both fixed and floating), from early stage concepts through to FEED and detailed design.

The Renewables Division at Xodus spearheads our overall business activities, establishes project opportunities and provides advisory and strategic consultancy. The business sector is also served by the other discipline-led divisions in Xodus covering environment, subsea engineering, structural engineering, vibration and integrity. As a truly integrated consultancy we bring together the right skills to work with and solve our clients’ challenges. Within renewables we work across the spectrum of offshore renewable energy generation, energy transmission and ‘edge of grid’ energy systems.

You will sit within the Renewables Division but work with engineers and environmental practitioners from across the Xodus business to deliver integrated project solutions.

Xodus places a strong emphasis on professional accreditation and will encourage and support you in achieving/retaining your desired level.

Ultimately, we bring great, motivated, people together who all understand how energy solutions can be technically, economically, ethically and environmentally sustainable. We hope you will join us.

We work across the globe on innovative projects, engaging with industry and communities wherever we go in order to deliver on our vision. We see our renewables capability as intrinsic to the success of our business goals and we have a wide range of specialism across our team of around 25 professionals. Our biggest asset is obviously our people,

and that is why we take time to seek out the best people who really ‘fit’ with our culture, and then support them through the natural peaks and challenges of consultancy with initiatives around learning and development, wellbeing, sustainability (and of course we try to have as much fun as we can along the way!).

In line with Xodus values, we are committed to inclusion and diversity and invite applications from all backgrounds to apply for the role. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.

We are looking for a someone with appropriate tertiary qualifications and a strong track record in the field of offshore renewables engineering. This position is both demanding and rewarding and could be undertaken on a full or part time basis. Many of our people work flexibly and we encourage you to speak with us at interview about your working pattern requirements.

We believe in a culture where people feel empowered and as such have a very flat structure. The role will report to the Boston business leaders who in turn reports to the Renewables Division Managers based in the UK; ensuring from the outset that we bring UK and US experience together
