Volunteer Role Overview:

The DoinGud community is the brainchild of Manuel Gonzalez Alzuru, who was infected with COVID-19 in the early days of the pandemic. Upon returning home to Barcelona, he found he was unable to get help even though there were people who wanted to provide it. Inspired by so many coming together, Manuel launched the FightPandemics project with one mission in mind: to ensure that those who need help could more easily connect with those who had help to offer. Today the community is evolving from a help board to a marketplace that will create the space for artists to engage with their communities and sell their work while contributing to the work of purpose-driven organizations. From that simple desire to enable connections for the greater good, we are now a collective of more than 1100 volunteers.

We are looking for a volunteer who want to join us in our fight against pandemics like COVID-19 and other crises alike.

We are now searching for an enthusiastic and master-of-engagement volunteer to work as our Internal Communications Manager and be the glue that bonds the team together.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all our volunteers are kept informed and motivated, communicating through several channels, such as Slack, email, social media and newsletters. You will work closely with our coordinators to establish organisational messages and keep staff informed of all developments.

As every one of us at DoinGud, you will be based remotely and will work from home.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Establish an internal communications strategy in conjunction with our coordinators.
• Ensure organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to our volunteers.
• Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as Slack, emails, social media, newsletters, etc.
• Draft and deliver presentations for the whole team.
• Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organisation.
• Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly.

Requirements

Qualifying Skills:

• You are great at clear and effective communication, able to persuade and influence people.
• You are an example of motivation, able to lead the way in a positive and energetic manner.
• You have excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• You have strong speaking skills (you may give presentations to our volunteers!).
• You possess sensitivity to DoinGud's goals and values and the ability to relay them to our volunteers.
• You have great interpersonal and relationship-building skills and the confidence to deal with people of all levels/responsibilities/roles.
• You have a flair for creativity and imagination.
• You are familiar with digital and video means of communication.
