Job Description

Avascent is seeking junior-level consulting candidates with strong academic performance, the ability to communicate effectively, proven research and analytical skills, and an interest in business and industries shaped by the government. We serve Fortune 500 companies and private equity firms across sectors including defense, healthcare, space, aviation, and technology.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serving as an active participant on Avascent project teams bringing a rigorous, analytical perspective to client business problems
  • Conducting primary and secondary research using both qualitative and quantitative research methods, and using internal and external sources, including databases, information services, and internet resources under the guidance of the project manager and project director
  • Preparing memos, slides, emails, spreadsheets, and other materials to communicate results of research and analysis and contributing to the preparation of client deliverables
  • Engaging in a wide variety of projects (growth strategy, market assessment, due diligence, contract, budget, and financial analyses)
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Solid, creative research skills and ability to conduct sophisticated, pragmatic analyses of business and policy issues
  • Quantitative skills sufficient to examine market trends, company financials, and other topics in support of Avascent’s client engagements
  • Ability to execute project plans on relatively well-defined assignments, both individually and as part of larger teams
  • Ability to communicate ideas and build strong relationships with peers, managers, senior staff, research contacts, and clients
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access)
  • In addition, general knowledge of and interest in the industries served by Avascent (e.g., defense, space) and the broader government policy environment is a plus
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution with coursework relevant to Avascent’s core business
  • At least two (2) years' research and writing experience in an academic and/or work environment
  • At least six (6) months internship/work experience involving research and/or analysis related to indicated area(s) of study, or some combination of education/experience thereof
