Job Description

We’re looking for a budding copywriter to join our growing marketing team. This person will learn Air's brand voice amp; tone and execute copy across the organization with a focus on organic content. As the first and only copywriting intern, you'll spend most of your time writing blog content, finding SEO opportunities, and working with customers to build out case studies for both the website and the sales team.

This role is a 3-month internship (start date flexible).

What you'll do:
  1. Get writing experience at a fast-paced, high-growth startup.
  2. Interact with Air's most interesting users (sports teams, non-profits, top brands) and build compelling stories around them.
  3. Learn how to write blog posts and landing pages that educate, entertain, and convert prospects into customers.

No two days will look the same at Air. You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of copy projects website pages, blog posts, sales collateral, social media, and more.

This role will be within Air's Growth organization, reporting to the Brand Marketing Manager. You can expect to receive broad mentorship on B2B marketing, content strategy, project management, and general coaching and development.

Your work will expose you to key tools in the modern tech/SaaS startup stack. Experience that you can take with you to any future company or position:

  • Customer Support/Communication: Intercom (Help Center), MailChimp, Mandrill
  • Documentation/Collateral: Notion, Loom, Air
  • Analytics: Mixpanel, Mode
  • CMS: Contentful
Who you are:

The ideal candidate is proactive and execution-oriented. They have a strong bias for action, and can transform confusing, complex topics into easy-to-understand copy for people at every stage of the awareness journey. If nothing else, this person should be hungry to learn and passionate about writing (duh).

Internship breakdown:
  • 40% - Copywriting
    • Write copy for blog posts, email marketing, the website, sales collateral, and more
    • Pitch new ideas for "drops" top-of-funnel campaigns centered around Brand Experience (BX) like this or this
  • 30% - Social Media
    • Create and manage a social media content calendar for Air
    • Post on behalf of Air on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
    • Coordinate with the product team to prepare for upcoming feature releases, communicate bug fixes to the masses, etc.
  • 30% - Research and Insights
    • Work with the CX team to better understand the product and the consumer
    • Conduct user research and build creative ideas around those insights
What to expect:

After 30 days

By the end of 30 days you will have a keen understating of.

  • People and org: Integrated into Marketing processes; met with all members of the Growth team and key product leads/PMs
  • Tech: Up and running on all necessary tools including Intercom, Mixpanel, Notion, Mailchimp, Contentful, Air, Loom, etc.
  • Brand: Well-versed in Air's brand tone and voice, ready to start writing on your own.
  • Customer: Who Air's users are from both a self serve/bottoms up perspective and an enterprise/sales perspective. What are their unique needs, common problems, and how can our product, account management, and support processes improve their experience.

After 3 months

By the end of 3 months you will have a keen understating of.

  • Content: How to write a blog post and manage design deliverables like share cards, gifs, and product imagery.
  • Blog: An understanding of what's performing best on the blog. At this point you'll be able to provide suggestions for the content calendar
  • Distribution: How content can be repurposed and distributed across different channels and audience touch-points
