Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Safety is your top priority.
- Perform daily pre/post vehicle inspection of vehicle in accordance with company policy.
- Safely operate her or his truck while following assigned runs by the dispatcher and or supervisor.
- Maintain a class A license, clean MVR, and participate in DOT required random procedure.
- Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
- Operate company owned road tractors, van trailers, scrap haulers, roll off truck, lugger truck, and other equipment to service localized customer base.
- Identify unsatisfactory scrap containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures.
- Continuously monitor scrap for unacceptable contamination.
- Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operational.
- Ensure load securement utilize various tarping methods.
- Consult with customer and management alike on customer container placement.
SAFETY AND HEALTH RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be an ambassador of safety within the DORI organization; always leading on the frontier regarding DOT, OSHA, RIOS, and R2 regulatory parameters.
- Utilize the appropriate chain of command to communicate safety concerns, injury, and near miss events to ensure proper safety coaching and training is provide, discussed openly, and retained; both as a group and in situations of singularity.
- Employ a tenacious attitude for safety and procedural improvements; disseminating one’s ideas following the appropriate chain of command.
Requirements
- Must have a Class A CDL driver license
- Must pass a DOT physical/Pre- employment testing
- Must have two years of verifiable tractor/trailer or roll off driving experience.
- No on-road preventable accidents during the past three years as shown on the motor vehicle record
- No more than one moving violation on the MVR in the previous three years
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
- Perform additional duties as need
