Job Description

The Sales Development Representative plays a key role in the Sales and Marketing organization by qualifying new sales leads and building a business pipeline by calling and emailing prospect lists. Additionally, reps will be asked to follow up on various marketing activities, tradeshows, and campaigns. As a Sales Development Representative, you will qualify potential prospects by matching needs with CoreSite’s product offering and setting up appointments for the Outside Sales Group. We are looking for motivated individuals that are willing to work hard, learn, and who are interested in a technology-based sales career.

Duties:

  • Generate qualified sales opportunities, through a combination of inbound Marketing demand generation efforts and outbound calling efforts
  • Create, organize and track leads using SalesForce.com
  • Learn and understand key prospects’ business models, locations and log important information
  • Understand CoreSite’s offerings and competitive advantage
  • Have knowledge of the markets and industries you and your team are assigned and understand common objections, needs and solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and other support organizations to identify and develop campaign/messaging needs, and feedback on existing Marketing efforts and lead quality
  • Help Support Sales Development tools, i.e. contact search engines, SalesLoft, etc.
  • Occasionally travel to trade shows to provide booth support (~10% Travel)
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for qualified opportunities
  • Promote and demonstrate the behaviors consistent with CoreSite’s culture and 8 Guiding Principles
  • Special projects as assigned

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills amp; Abilities:

  • Demonstrate strong sales skills through cold calling and proper email messaging
  • Organized and creative; ability to try different approaches to solve problems
  • Motivated, energetic, aggressive and outgoing with a selling focus
  • Persistent and tenacious; must be able to handle rejection and bounce back
  • Must display the highest integrity at all times
  • Honest, direct communication, internal and external
  • Competitive personality; willingness and ability to outwork the competition
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • CRM (Salesforce) Discipline a must
  • Critical listener with effective questioning
  • Self-starter that does not need constant supervision to be effective
  • Must display attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • One or more years in a sales role with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and insurance
