Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the structural health of railroad assets by applying machine learning techniques and statistical analysis over different collected data sources.
- Build end-to-end pipelines for asset maintenance planning.
- Actively learn the business owner platform, products, and adjust efforts within that context.
- Plan and manage own work with minimal supervision but high accountability.
- Effectively communicate the analytics approach and how it will meet and address objectives to business partners.
- Lead analytic approaches; integrate solutions collaboratively into applications and tools with data engineers, business leads, analysts and developers.
- Create repeatable, interpretable, dynamic and scalable models that are seamlessly incorporated into analytic data products.
Requirements
- PhD Degree in statistics, computer science, structural engineering, or related field; or, MS Degree with 5+ years of relevant industry-level experience in predictive analytics.
- Proficiency in Python or R. Ability to write complex SQL queries.
- In-depth experience with predictive model training and deployment using Python ML libraries, e.g. TensorFlow, PySpark, PyTorch, XGBoost, SHAP.
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience in deep neural networks and other predictive techniques, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and recurrent neural networks (RNNs).
- Experience with statistical analysis, regression modeling and forecasting, time series analysis, and data mining.
- Familiar with cloud services data analytics platforms and machine learning solutions (e.g. Azure Databricks).
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to understand business partner needs and deliver solutions.
- Experience with data visualization tools Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Familiarity and efficiency with SAS environment a plus.
