We are hiring a Director, Talent Marketing and Service. This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day needs of clients, senior-level agents, and talent marketing leadership, helping to accomplish client related sales, media, and marketing efforts. This includes talent sales, branding, public relations, digital marketing, social media, and content development, as well as participating in new business development efforts. These efforts will consist of prospecting sales leads and marketing material development. Provide high-level administrative support for clients and talent marketing leadership including organizing, scheduling, and coordinating administrative activities. Also responsible for managing the day-to-day account operations around all client business affairs, including accounts receivable, marketing activation, charitable events, camps, and social media community managements. Participates in new business development efforts such as recruitment and talent marketing. Works with internal communications team to support Wasserman baseball social media channels.

Duties:

  • High focus on sales, client service, networking and market research; responsible for prospecting, outbound sales calls and pitches; establishes brand, agency and media relationships that lead to brand partnerships.
  • Create branding and marketing materials for current Wasserman Client roster.
  • Assist marketing leadership with managing relationships with existing partners; ensures the client’s contracts are fulfilled; approves marketing and advertising materials.
  • Assist with the development of client content, which includes PR efforts, along with sourcing and negotiating content and media deals under the supervision of senior agents and marketing leadership.
  • Work with Leagues, PAs, Teams, and Team Sponsors to secure content marketing opportunities for clients through brand activations, content development, league and team partners, as well as media alliances.
  • Handle logistics leading up to and throughout major events, including Drafts, Winter Meetings, and All Star week end Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements and other documents, using Word, Excel spreadsheets, or presentation software. Maintain department databases and generate reports as required.
  • Manage incoming queries for clients; answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls ensuring a high level of professional customer service and confidentiality.
  • Manages day-to-day schedules of athletes, which includes appointments, travel logistics, interviews, family affairs, and marketing commitments.
  • Oversees off field client relationships and regularly communicates with their agents, keeping them informed on their clients’ needs.
  • Plan travel itineraries, coordinate related arrangements, gather information and negotiate complex scheduling issues.
  • Monitors each client’s competitions to keep up-to-date on their professional career.
  • Travels to spend face time with clients to support off field business affairs and build genuine relationships to assist in client retention.
  • Performs routine and crisis management client support under the supervision of a Senior-Level.
  • Agent where needed (includes liaison and consultation with legal experts/sports psychologists/media professionals, family issues, personal issues, styling, visa and passport services, attending games/appearances with client, etc.).
  • Supports management team’s client recruitment efforts and assists in the recruitment of athletes by cultivating both industry relationships and relationships with potential clients.
  • Handles certain administrative duties for agents and SVPs and EVPs such as editing bios, sourcing video files, organizing data, ordering or shipping equipment, managing schedules, and preparing presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferably in sports management, content, sales, marketing, communications, or public relations.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in sports industry role, preferably within professional hockey, baseball, basketball, or football.
