The Metrology Manager opportunity is for a hands-on leader in the manufacturing facility, a role that offers a significant challenge for the right candidate. This opportunity is based out of the VulcanForms’ Devens, MA facility.
Responsibilities
- Create a calibration system for a growing company that meets all regulations and industry standards in aerospace, medical and military product lines.
- Maintain calibration laboratory and or departmental accreditation and quality systems.
- Develop and use measurement methods and equipment to determine features of product conform to design features. Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures.
- Optimize inspection methods to expedite inspections and manage equipment capacity. Statistically evaluate new calibration methods and procedures. Use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes.
- Develop and recommend calibration standards and IMamp;TE.
- Develop measurement programs for use by quality inspectors and production personnel.
- Have working knowledge of programming and using vision systems (i.e., OGP) and Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM).
- Experience using industry-specific software such as LabView, SureCal, Met/Cal, and Indy Soft
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 requirements
- Experience using industry-specific software such as LabView, SureCal, Met/Cal, and Indy Soft
- Strong communication skills, including experience at all organizational levels
- Experience in continuous improvement in lab processes
Requirements:
- A degree in engineering or a related field is required.
- Seven (7) years’ experience calibrating test amp; measurement equipment in a commercial or military calibration lab
- Knowledge of Medical Device Quality ISO 13485:2016 or Aviation Quality AS9100
- Root Cause Analysis, Data analysis, and Statistical Process Control.
- Skilled using MS Office.
Preferred Experience:
- Cognizant of Quality trends and international regulatory compliance standards, including MDD 93/42/EEC, ISO 13485, and other applicable global requirements.
- Experience working in ITAR/EAR compliant organization.
- Experience with Metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion.
- Project management experience.
