Job Description

Armstrong Flooring has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Product Manager with strong business acumen to develop a strategic vision and road map within our North America Flooring portfolio. You will drive the new product development process, analyze competitor products, and execute operating and project plans to differentiate our products from those of the competition. If you are a strong product manager who can roll up your sleeves and balance both strategic and tactical responsibilities while bringing new ideas and strong leadership, this is the opportunity for you!

The Sr. Product Manager drives the new product development process to ensure products are developed on time and within budgetary goals. This includes leading product planning and design to ensure the products are successfully launched and differentiated from our competition. The position also manages full product life-cycle, including conception, definition, development, launch and post-launch activities.

Location: Remote with a need to be physically in the office 2-4 times per month at 2500 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17604. New Location Coming Summer 2021: 1770 Hempstead Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Catch a sneak preview here!

Sr. Product Manager Salary: $120,000 - $160,000, based on experience (Gr. 14/15) + annual incentive plan

How you’ll contribute to the team:

  • Drive the New Product Development process to successfully develop and launch new products and line extensions that are aligned with strategic and operating plans.
  • Develop product specifications utilizing voice of customer input.
  • Work with the Sales and Channel Marketing teams to obtain and analyze competitive and market research and making product recommendations based on this information.
  • Evaluate requests for product changes and enhancements and making decisions on such requests.
  • Work with the Marketing team to develop strategies and tactics for the successful marketing of products, including new product launches and re-positioning of current products.
  • Provide guidance and input on pricing, claims resolution, and product promotions.
  • Conduct product training for external and internal customers.
  • Build and leverage relationships with End-Users, Architects, Designers, Flooring Contractors, Big Box, Builders, and Property Management contacts to drive desired business outcomes.
  • 15-25% travel.

Requirements

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Admin, Marketing, or similar discipline PLUS 10+ years' of experience in product management
    OR MBA PLUS 7+ years' of experience in product management
  • Experience with new product development, pricing, promotions, conducting market research and analyzing competitor products
