Job Overview:

Lead the creation of a brand new research data science team that will inform public conversations in healthcare. This new team, Olive’s Data Fountain, will be in charge of surfacing valuable insights from the company’s 929TB of healthcare data. Your team’s efforts will support the company’s reason for being, which is to help fix the broken healthcare system. The goal of Olive’s Data Fountain is to become a go-to public source for healthcare insights and, in doing so, help drive awareness of Olive’s role as the company delivering long-overdue innovation to healthtech.

We are looking for an experienced leader who is both passionate about unleashing the power of data to generate public insights and adept at serving as a spokesperson to convey findings. The Data Fountain leader should be skilled at building data efforts that influential external audiences love and that help encourage fundamental change in healthcare. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out your plan and project pipeline. This role will be responsible for strategy, execution, team management and development of materials for publication as well as serving as a spokesperson. You will develop an overall plan and editorial calendar, gathering and prioritize data/research requirements, and working closely with your team and collaborators to ensure goals are met.

This is an opportunity to lead the creation of an entirely new and very innovative effort. The ideal candidate will be eloquent as well as analytical and someone who thrives on the challenge of creating new programs in fast-paced environments. They will also be inquisitive, creative and self-driven.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shape the vision and drive the creation of Olive’s new research and data science team aimed at delivering public commentary on healthcare
  • Hire and manage supporting team of project manager, data analyst and content creator
  • Define an editorial calendar that delivers a consistent drumbeat of data-driven campaigns
  • Oversee all project work to ensure credible insights and research are developed and packaged up effectively
  • Ensure a well-rounded slate of efforts that matches Olive’s own data with new primary research, including the creation of at least one annual study to provide industry trend data and timely insights into current events relevant to healthcare
  • Be on top of trending healthcare and AI topics to provide quick turn analyses informing Olive’s thought leadership efforts
  • Serve as a company spokesperson externally, sharing out Data Fountain findings via social, to media, at events and elsewhere
  • Be adept at presenting internally to help educate Olive’s team on the power of our data and bring further meaning to our efforts through the stories our data tells
  • Work with marketing to launch a landing site home for Olive Data Fountain content
  • Assess potential partnerships with external parties on Data Fountain efforts that will help accelerate Olive’s visibility as a thought leader
  • Collaborate seamlessly across marketing, the PR agency, and other Data Fountain colleagues in functional areas across the organization

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in data science / analytics / research team and project management
  • Proven ability to establish and grow new programs
  • Experience serving as an external spokesperson, ideally sharing healthcare industry commentary
  • A track record of working with various stakeholders to coordinate, plan, execute, and track releases from beginning to end
  • Self-starter able to manage ambiguity and thrive in a dynamic startup environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to think outside the box and roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
