We're disrupting a $40B+ operational database market, and we’re just getting started. We have 40,000+ developers using our product. You’ll be working with a talented team of people who have built highly successful companies and globally-distributed systems at companies such as Twitter, Okta, AWS, Microsoft, and Oracle.

In this role, we’re looking for an analytical, data-driven product marketer with deep experience in GTM for SaaS products, preferably with a product-led growth (PLG) model, to own and build the product marketing function. Reporting to the CMO, you will own and drive the positioning, packaging, pricing, messaging, product launches, content strategy and demand generation strategy for Fauna, and recruit a high-velocity team to help execute on the GTM. Through systematic analysis of the market, the product, and the user adoption, you will build the GTM strategy, a framework for executing our go-to-market, and establish metrics to quantify results. You will engage with audiences both internal and external to define the target customer(s), and the right approach for acquiring each. Alongside, you will direct product launches, execute sales training, formulate campaigns to drive demand, and contribute the technical marketing content required by demand generation activities.

To accomplish your goals, you will work closely with the Product, Sales, and Engineering as well as build relationships with customers, to gain insights and formulate plans, and drive consensus. You will be creative, yet analytical, thorough, and precise in your approach, revel in driving business through all available channels.

What You Will Do:

  • Identity and develop the right positioning statement, messaging framework, and competitive strategy for our target markets, analyze and iterate.
  • Continuously evaluate and iterate the packaging and pricing to keep Fauna competitive in the market while driving revenue.
  • Drive the launch of new features and spearhead the development of related assets including blogs, decks, blogs, press materials, analyst updates.
  • Analyze customer segments, identify ICPs and build acquisition campaigns for each, alongside the buyer journey for each.
  • Oversee the marketing website, drive the content strategy to power all acquisition campaigns, and author blogs, landing pages and copy as required.
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver sales enablement for key business initiatives and support sales activities with content and product expertise as necessary.
  • Build and maintain customer stories, quotes, and related marketing materials to establish Fauna’s value proposition and ROI.
  • Monitor business metrics and develop content and campaigns to develop the sales pipeline, and drive growth.
  • Recruit and mentor a team of world class product marketers, technical marketers and content marketers to keep pace with business growth

Requirements

What You Will Bring:

  • Passion for building a database business from the ground up with a willingness to experiment, and a metrics-driven approach to execution.
  • 8+ years as a product marketer for SaaS with experience in product-led GTM and experience with (or aptitude for) developer tools or enterprise infrastructure.
  • Computer science degree(s) with an MBA or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in product positioning and messaging, with deep knowledge of the various positioning frameworks popular in the industry.
  • Expertise in developing packaging strategies for complex developer-centric or infrastructure solutions and multi-axis pricing.
  • Proven experience in managing successful SaaS product launches, and relevant activities and content for blogs, press, and analyst relations.
  • Proficiency in leading GTM campaigns and content development for different user personas.
  • Hands-on experience in executing all aspects of sales enablement, including competitive positioning, release training, deal support, etc.
  • Proficiency with SaaS analytics, and ability to define, collect and analyze metrics hands-on to guide business decisions.
  • Meticulous project management, and ability to coordinate across teams with an eye for details, and schedules
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, with a command of grammar, and constructs for technical writing for blogs, articles, web copy etc.
  • Resourcefulness, curiosity, keen sense for web/graphics design, communication skills and the emotional intelligence to excel in distributed startup environments.
