Job Description

The Senior Manager of Business Affairs at Collectively plays a critical role in supporting a complex ecosystem of client, influencer (talent), and vendor agreements. This role will be responsible for the strategic and holistic management of agreements for a dynamic agency that operates in a rapidly evolving marketplace.


This role will demonstrate exceptional contract management and process in addition to bringing a strategic eye to all agreements and client negotiation situations. This role will have a significant amount of collaboration and interaction with other teams, clients, and outside counsel, in addition to active negotiation with client and influencer teams and/or counsel. A passion for collaboration, negotiation savvy and a solutions-oriented mindset are essential.


This role reports into the Director of Operations amp; Finance.


Responsibilities:

Reporting into our Director of Operations amp; Finance and working closely with leadership and executives across other functional teams (New Business, Account Management, Production, Operations amp; Finance) this role is responsible for the following:

Contract Development amp; Management

  • Develop and execute a streamlined and consistent process for drafting, negotiating, and organizing a high volume of digital talent (influencer) agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, and Talent amp; Licensing Agreements.
  • Develop and execute a streamlined and consistent process for drafting, negotiating, and organizing client agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, SOWs.
  • Maintain and utilize approved negotiation parameters (give guides) for Collectively agreements
  • Provide guidance on influencer rates for consistency across individual influencers as well as generalized categories and/or content/licensing asks.
  • With the support of an Operations Assistant, maintain an organized library of agreement templates, signed agreements, and outstanding agreements.



Negotiation

  • Work directly with a variety of third parties, including talent (influencers), talent representatives, vendors, clients, and procurement departments to negotiate related agreements
  • Uphold Collectively’s organization-wide focus on great partnership and collaboration, bringing outstanding communication and diplomacy to all negotiation conversations
  • Coordinate all requests and collaboration with outside counsel when necessary
  • With outside counsel, develop and negotiate standard agreements with talent management and clients

Other Business Affairs Support

  • Manage negotiation and organization for third party vendor agreements as-needed
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and execute a process for developing and issuing Change Orders
  • Research and support requests for additional perspective on business affairs-related industry changes (ex: FTC regulation) or miscellaneous business needs, coordinating with outside counsel as necessary
  • Develop and manage all processes necessary to ensure that Collectively is in compliance with all agreements

Requirements

  • B.A/B.S. Degree or equivalent
  • Legal undergraduate or graduate experience a plus
  • 5+ Years of Relevant Business Affairs experience, preferably in agency, entertainment, or digital content environments
  • Well-versed in digital and social advertising and licensing
  • Experience successfully negotiating complex contracts with procurement groups within large brands
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to effectively communicate and navigate contracts discussions with clients of all levels in a friendly, services-oriented manner.
  • Capable of both big picture thinking (negotiation strategy, business needs amp; objectives, client relationships) and detail-oriented work (document organization, project management/follow-through)
  • Exceptional communication skills--internally and externally, as demonstrated by great written work (email, misc documentation) and comfort/effectiveness with phone/in-person conversations
  • Enthusiasm for working with a variety of teams across many different types of agreements
  • Interest in the social influencer space
  • Experience setting process and using systems like DocuSign and SalesForce to create efficiencies and cross-functional processes
