About the Role:

If you want to join a fast-paced, retail obsessed, team that is growing and breaking new ground for Blenders, this is the place for you. We are looking for a creative leader who is entrepreneurial and analytical to help us make our brick and mortar stores a place where customers love to shop.

We need a Store Designer who will be responsible for creating and implementing the brand design standards as they translate into physical stores. This position will collaborate with both internal and external cross-functional teams to manage the execution of multiple design end-to-end projects at any given time.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and has a deep passion for physical-retail design. This person also has outstanding project management and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support and/or lead simultaneous projects at various stages of real estate projects, from initiation to completion and follow up (approval stages, design, sourcing, venders, materials, samples, ordering and construction)
  • Work with both internal and external cross-functional teams (internal: Director of Retail, Creative Director, CEO amp; external: General Contractors, FFE distribution, architects)
  • Lead design review processes to maximize efficiency
  • Manage and coordinate drawings, ensuring they are current and correct and flow through to production
  • Modify designs where necessary to meet manufacturing and cost requirements to improve profitability
  • Follow up on your projects and take ownership of analyzing both successes and learnings

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills amp; Abilities):

  • Passion for the Blenders brand and must embody the Blenders culture
  • Bachelor’s degree within Interior Design or architecture
  • 4+ years’ experience within commercial/retail architecture or interior design with focus on store design and planning with a strong design portfolio
  • Experience with design development, construction documents and permitting
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate design vision in visual, written, and verbal formats
  • Proficient in Sketch-Up, Adobe Suite and AutoCAD, Revit or equivalent programing
  • Demonstrated communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends, building and health codes, 3D visualization, and color and design principles
  • Flexibility to shift focus and priorities

*A Portfolio amp; Cover Letter is required as part of the application process

Travel Requirements:

  • 10-30% travel time
  • Required to be on site at new stores the week prior to opening for design project managing

Budget Owner:

  • Yes, fiscally accountable for managing the new store design budgets
  • Position Details:

This is a full-time reporting directly to the Director of Retail. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday (8:30AM-4:30PM PST).
