Nano Precision Medical is an emerging biopharmaceutical company located in Emeryville, CA. We develop miniaturized, sub-dermal, drug implants utilizing our proprietary NanoPortal TM technology platform, which enables delivery of a broad range of medicines to treat chronic diseases for durations of six months or longer. Our products, designed to address poor adherence, will significantly improve patient's lives and provide assurance to the physicians who treat them.
The research and development team is searching for smart, highly motivated, abnormally curious problem solvers who have a strong technical knowledge base and deep command of foundational scientific and technical principles to join our team.
In this role, you will be expected to become an internal expert in multiple areas of core technical importance surrounding our titania nanotube membrane including the growth and other manufacturing processes. You will make major contributions to research work, understanding materials properties and improvement of existing processes/products. You will make major contributions to research work, including efforts to better understand and characterize relevant material properties, and to apply this knowledge to improve products, and processes, and verification systems. You will participate in and guide the initiation, design, and execution design of experiments, carry out experiments, and generate oral and written reports to communicate results. You will oversee and develop junior research associates and engineers.
To be successful in this role, you must be adept at working independently and in collaboration, possess a strong drive to learn and understand, and be able to quickly build new domain-specific expertise. You should have ready, well-honed intuition and grasp of the scientific method that you can support and refine with rigorous analysis and data. You must be pragmatic and able to effectively balance short-term imperatives with long term goals in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities
Participate in Ramp;D and process development
Learn quickly and apply knowledge and experience in new areas
Invent, develop, and study novel process concepts, and product prototypes, and verification systems
Design, conduct, document, and analyze experiments and associated data
Interact with vendors and analytical labs
Participate in scale up of manufacturing processes and assist with acquisition of new manufacturing equipment
Coordinate and mentor small group of engineers, research associates and technicians
