Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Actuarial Analyst will provide technical support to the Valuation Actuarial team on project work, data gathering and analytics, modeling, and additional cross-functional support role working with Line of Business, Analytics, Finance, Marketing and other areas of the company that may need data summarization, modeling framework or research help.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Valuation Actuarial team on all reserve setting project work
  • Secondary support to other Actuarial teams during Medicaid and Medicare Advantage Bid season as well as interfacing with internal Bright team and external consulting actuaries
  • Pull data and populate the monthly reserve triangles for all company lines of business and work with the valuation team actuaries to set final reserves
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis using Excel, SAS, SQL and Tableau
  • Manage your own project timelines, meet all deadlines, and produce high quality deliverables
  • Adhere to company policies, including completion of all company online training courses that are assigned
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Math, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field required
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working with health care data and/or modeling work with health insurance is required
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office products
  • Experience with forecasting, modeling, SQL and SAS
  • Produce, understand, and interpret internal and external analysis and reports; provide effective technical and non-technical support to internal and external stakeholders
LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries is preferred, but not required
