Our Operations team is seeking an ambitious and experienced Head of Talent for an immediate start. Responsibilities include managing internal and external recruiting sources, the candidate workflow, high level candidate communication strategy, stakeholder involvement and evaluation process, as well as long term vision for hiring at Sifchain and how to optimize to find the best talent. You will also network online and offline with potential candidates to promote our employer brand, reduce our time-to-hire and ensure we attract only the best professionals.
Beyond this, you’ll manage our relationships with talent that is not part of the core team. This means reviewing and vetting external software development agencies and the software teams beyond partner institutions who collaborate with us. You’ll be expected to have expertise in scalable workforces and be able to help us spin up temporary workers or even teams with potential partners like https://gigster.com/, https://distributed.co/, https://braintrust.com, and https://toptal.com. You’d also need to be opinionated on how we think about talent who we do not directly compensate but are nonetheless contributors. We are an open source project so anyone can participate and we are strongly committed to transitioning to a DAO structure in which our open source community can fund its own initiatives.
Ultimately, you will build a strong tech talent pipeline and help hire and retain skilled participants to help build Sifchain now and in the future.
- Gather new role requirements and write and post job descriptions
- Define and source potential candidates from various technical and blockchain focused platforms, like Stack Overflow, Github, and various crypto job boards
- Work with stakeholders to define and parse specialized skills and qualifications to screen resumes
- Manage agency relationships
- Define and evolve interview structure for candidates combining various methods (e.g. structured interviews, technical assessments and behavioral questions)
- Coordinate with team leaders to forecast department goals and hiring needs
- Craft and send personalized recruiting emails with current job openings to passive candidates
- Develop a strategy for sourcing top tier candidates from various sources, meeting these candidates on their playing field (not just LinkedIn searching)
- Compose job offer letters
- Onboard new hires
- Promote company’s reputation as a great place to work
- Conduct job and task analyses to document job duties and requirements
- Keep up-to-date with new technological trends and products
- Help define how we evolve our process in moving to DAO
- Provide input on creating a grants process for development agencies
Requirements
- Proven work experience leading a hiring team
- Proven success building out strategy and process for an early stage startup that led to healthy and fruitful scaling
- Technical expertise with an ability to understand and explain job requirements for Product and Engineering roles
- Experience with an ecosystem of end to end hiring software and responsibilities
- Ability to diplomatically stitch together interests from several internal and external stakeholders
- Prior experience with blockchain/crypto, ideally in a previous role
- Hands-on experience with various interview formats (Phone, Video Call, etc.)
- Comfortable working in a fully distributed environment (managing time zones, remote interviews and meetings, team coordination through Slack, email, Google meet, etc.)
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases
- Solid knowledge of sourcing techniques (e.g. social media recruiting and Boolean search)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid understanding of HR practices and labor legislation
- BSc in Human Resources Management, IT or relevant degree
