Job Description

The Director of Digital Services oversees the technical disciplines of website design and development. This role has a deep understanding of website design and development best practices including SEO, Accessibility, UX/UI, Information Architecture and Content Strategy. This role also has a firm grasp of digital marketing tactics and tools - especially those involved with Paid Advertising on channels like Google Ads (Paid Search, Remarketing, Display amp; Video), Spotify, Google LSA’s, and Microsoft Ads. Understanding how other digital marketing services integrate with and support performance of websites and paid advertising is a crucial part of this position. This role will need to speak intelligently across multiple disciplines - they are the liaison between technical developers and project managers and marketing strategists and clients.

Skills amp; Experience:

  • Web UX/UI Strategy amp; Design and Information Architecture
    • Wireframing, site mapping, audits / evaluations, etc
    • Experience with lead generation conversion optimization for websites a big plus
    • Graphic / web design skills a big plus
  • Technical Requirements Gathering, Scoping / Specification Development
    • Technical and functional specifications
    • Scope and technical documentation
    • Statement of Work and Change Order development
  • Expert level Project / Product Management
    • Experience with PM software (Asana, Basecamp, Teamwork, etc)
    • software product or project management a big plus
    • familiarity with agile processes, and workflow management
    • PM Certifications a big plus
  • Expert level understanding of and experience with Google Analytics
    • Experience with other Google Web Tools: Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Google Data Studio, Google Local Service Ads, and Google My Business
  • Strong familiarity with both Drupal and WordPress CMS platforms
    • Other CMS platforms a plus (Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Magento)
  • Skilled solution oriented, independent troubleshooter
    • Willing and able to asses a problem or challenge and test solutions on your own or in collaboration with a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Internal team communications - works with direct reports, and across departments and organizational tiers to clearly and effectively move projects and initiatives forward
    • External / Client Facing Communications - works with clients to listen and understand business objectives, challenges and opportunities, and translates them into marketing and web strategies.
  • Data driven, strategic thinker
    • Uses data to inform and optimize decisions
    • Able to manipulate, analyze and communicate insights and conclusions drawn from data

Requirements

  • BA or equivalent work experience in Digital Marketing (agency experience a plus)
  • 5+ years of experience managing digital and/or technical projects (website / software development - Wordpress and preferably Drupal)
  • At least 1 year experience in IA design developing wireframes, IA diagrams and sitemaps (database design, technical / functional specifications experience will be enormously helpful but not required)
  • Experience managing a team - recruiting and hiring, training and performance evaluation
  • 2-3 years experience working with and/or building websites in Drupal and Wordpress CMS - basic html amp; CSS strongly preferred

Preference is for applicants located in Southern Maine, but we will consider remote candidates who are exceptionally qualified.
