We are looking for a dynamic and business-minded professional to drive intra-divisional planning, budgeting, headcount management, near-term execution and longer-term thinking and alignment with other parts of the company. The role will be part of the leadership team within the division (which encompasses Content, Business Development and Media Operations teams), reporting to the Vice President for Content, while coordinating with other divisions in both the U.S. and Japan and with SmartNews Corporate Planning. The ideal candidate will have business-planning and/or management-related knowledge and an interest/experience in the media and tech spaces.
Responsibilities
- Gather and synthesize input from both within and outside the division to formulate a strategic roadmap for our content and business-development efforts.
- Drive the process for formulating divisional OKRs, making sure they are fully aligned with company-level goals and coordinated as necessary with other divisions and pillars. Track and report progress of those OKRs and elevate potential blockers in a timely fashion so they can be addressed.
- Drive the annual budgeting process as well as monitoring budgetary, headcount and related compliance.
- Key interface with Corporate Planning on issues of planning and implementation of plans to support long-range company goals.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience, corresponding to any of the following:
- Work experience at a company or consulting firm
- Management-relevant knowledge/experience in business planning
- Self-directed individual who identifies issues and brings solutions to the table
- Energetic and inquisitive mind
- MS Excel and Powerpoint skills
- High EQ with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a sense of humor is a definite plus
- Strong proficiency in English
