Position: Summer Camp Youth Basketball/Flag Football Coach
The JB Sports Coach is the face of our business. Our Coaches represent what customers perceive our brand to be. Listed below are the JB Sports coach expectations, and requirements to be a successful coach:
What you get to do:
- Coach basketball or Flag Football clinics at various sites around Indy (1 site each week/ 5 days a week/ am hours)
- Make a difference in kids’ lives and promote a lifelong love of fitness amp; sports
- Teach children through the use of our curriculum and sports amp; fitness equipment
- Be creative in your execution of provided curriculum, bringing your gifts to the program as well
- Review lesson plans amp; equipment needs
- Communicate with school staff regarding all aspects of the JB Sports classes
- Monitor attendance of all registered children
- Communicate with parents as needed to report child progress
- Rock our JB Sports gear and present a professional image
What we need from you:
- Enthusiasm
- Direct experience playing or coaching basketball or flag football
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt to different environmental or personnel needs
- Creative independence to adjust to various skill levels within the basketball or flag football program
- Ability to delegate and communicate needs to additional provided camp staff from location
- Ability to pass a background check
- Have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, jump, jog, and move actively to execute a class
- Ability to occasionally carry large amounts of equipment
- Provide advance notice or coverage for any foreseen absences
- Arrive for set up and begin all classes on time and be able to work independently with no direct supervision
Requirements
18 years of age or older
Specific experience in basketball and/ or football (coaching/ refer/ player)
