Note: This role is a step towards becoming a Certified Financial Planner professional in a training program (if CFP credential not yet held)

Callahan Financial Planning is seeking to hire a financial planning associate who has experience working in financial services and with individual clients in a high-quality service environment. This is a salaried position.

Callahan Financial Planning is a growing regional company that provides holistic financial planning and investment advice with a special fee-only service model, ensuring there are no conflicts of interest with clients. Someone entering this role has growth potential as our company continues to expand across multiple offices in California, Colorado, Nebraska, and Iowa.

This is position is intended for people wishing to become a financial planner in direct contact with clients, and eventually managing client relationships as part of a financial planning team. This position is an opportunity to gain valuable experience in wealth management, personal finance, and towards the attainment of the CFP credentials. In this role, you will work directly with friendly families that you'll come to know well, preparing to work directly with your own clients.

A qualified candidate would:

  • Interacting daily with clients (and prospective clients inquiring about our services) via email, phone, and in-person, and providing support to general and technical questions
  • Performing and supporting other financial planning staff and their functions (e.g. retirement, estate planning, investment, insurance, and similar advice)
  • Working in a team environment with other financial planning staff, and performing any client tasks with the goal of further improving the high quality of service our clients receive
  • Be interested in learning more about personal financial planning, and seeking growth opportunities within a growing financial planning company that avoids selling financial products
  • Assist and support other financial planning staff members as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by team and supervisor

Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience interacting with clients in a high-quality service environment is required
  • 1 year or more of past experience in personal financial planning, wealth management, tax preparation, or banking is required
  • A Bachelor's degree or
