About the role
This role is responsible for user acquisition and first 30-day conversion funnels, with a primary focus on driving subscription ARR growth.
Reporting into the Director of Product Marketing, you will be charged with growing our subscription base quickly and sustainably. The ideal hire is performance-driven, resourceful and gets energized by owning critical business metrics.
You’ll be responsible for growing and optimizing organic funnels that have fueled our growth to date (bonus if you have experience with webinars!). At the same time, you’ll drive the strategy and plans to expand into new online and offline channels to reach new audiences, retarget existing audiences and accelerate subscription growth. You’ll lead the relationship with our paid media agency, manage our small-but-might paid media budget, and build the case to expand into bigger budgets and different channels.
You’re scrappy at heart, and proactively identify ways to solve problems creatively and simplistically.
This role reports to the Director of Product Marketing and will work closely with creative, product, finance and marketing.
Responsibilities / a day in the life
- Develop and own the acquisition and first 30-days marketing strategy for our subscription business
- Define, measure and optimize funnel KPIs for all acquisition and conversion paths
- Define and operationalize the growth / acquisition function at BiggerPockets
- Leverage data and consumer insights to rank-prioritize hypotheses in collaboration with engineering, marketing and analytics.
- Partner with CRM, design and engineering teams to implement always-on and evergreen acquisition campaigns
- Continuously evaluate new acquisition opportunities, and build the business case to test into new channels (i.e.paid media, direct mail, affiliates, etc.)
- Manage one direct report, facilitating an empowering culture of continual analysis, testing, experimentation, and optimization
Education amp; Experience
- 6+ years of experience in a growth or performance marketing capacity, with demonstrated experience developing and analyzing product acquisition efficiency and effectiveness
- Deep experimentation experience and mindset with a proven track record of executing A/B tests, optimizing campaigns and translating data into insights
- Thrives in fast-paced environments and can adapt quickly to shifting priorities
- Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
- Experience building out new strategies and programs from the ground up; you understand the technical needs for implementation
- Experience efficiently scaling both digital (e.g. SEM, Display, Paid Social, Affiliate) and offline (e.g. TV, podcasts, direct mail, out-of-home) marketing channels
- Success in managing agencies and other external partners to receive optimal value
- Expert in Excel, proficient in data analysis and visualization. Bonus if you’re familiar with Amplitude.
- Proficient in Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Facebook Ads, and A/B Testing; a plus if you had exposure to systems like Optimizely
- Comfort building, evaluating, and forecasting performance for core business metrics.
- Subscription experience a plus
Compensation: An annual base salary of $100,000 - $125,000 + a 10% annual bonus potential. The salary range depends on years of relevant experience and skillset.
