Job Description

The Leading Provider of In-Office Diagnostic Testing

Making it easy for doctors and their patients, we use the latest equipment, clinical expertise and processes to help make patients healthy and physicians’ practices healthier.

Working under the supervision of the Customer Intake Division Manager, the Data Entry position is responsible for ensuring patients’ health care benefits cover all required procedures by contacting patient’s insurance company to verify coverage levels and works with practices, patients and Company staff to educate them on benefits information. This includes but not limited to heavy phone and online contact with managed care companies, communicate with insurance companies’ authorization department regarding any CPT code discrepancies, and contact practices prior to appointment if there are any insurance/authorization issues.

Requirements

Duties amp; Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter patient demographics from practices within 2 hours of receipt.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits using technology tools, the telephone and the internet to ensure compliance with the clinic’s policies and procedures for all practices within 24 hours.
  • Coordinate with insurance providers and clinic to obtain referrals and pre-authorizations. Document these findings into the appropriate system(s).
  • Communicate with provider and obtain any missing information necessary to achieve financial clearance.
  • Contact Frontera staff, patients and practices regarding financial obligations when necessary.
  • Research, follow-up and resolve open amp; pending authorizations in a timely manner.
  • Follow up via phone and/or email for missing information.
  • Calculate cash estimates for patients on upcoming visits/procedures.
  • Answer phone for incoming calls, make outgoing calls and assist field tech and CSC staff as needed.
  • Accurately document all activity in patient accounts.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and center related business.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support Company’s Vision and Values.
  • Maintain and promote HIPAA compliance in all areas.
  • Train new team members on verification process amp; review work performed daily.
  • Educate new field staff members in processes of insurance and verification dept.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of insurance verification experience, patient navigation, and/or patient field assistance.
  • Certification of CPT and ICD-10 Codes.
  • Strong understanding of in-Network/Out-of-Network benefits investigating; deductibles, co-insurance, out of pocket expense amp; benefit exclusions.
  • Intermediate experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
  • Detailed and ability to effectively handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
  • High energy, bright and energetic team player with strong work ethic that takes direction well.
  • Ability to define challenges, analyze problems, and suggest solutions in a proactive and positive manner.
