The Front-End Engineer works both individually and with a development team on Unboxed’s cutting edge Spoke Learning Platform. Involved in all phases of design and development, you create scalable, reusable solutions that are exciting and easy to use and meet the needs of modern learners. You learn quickly, collaborate effectively, understand multiple web technologies, and work within a tight project schedule.
Requirements
- A degree in computer science or a software-related field
- Strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A knack for solving problems with a natural inclination toward intellectual curiosity; a love to learn
- Applied experience with MV* architecture (such as Angular amp; React + Redux.), unidirectional data flow, reusable components
- Experience with Typescript, Webpack (or similar front end build system), CSS/SASS, and other modern front-end technologies
- Experience building front ends using REST APIs
- Prefer candidates located in Richmond, VA
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain front code as part of a mobile-first web application, including background jobs and services.
- Make decisions about code design, architecture, and refactoring to balance technical debt against delivering functionality.
- Review code and mentor other engineers.
- Provide time estimates and participate in agile development.
- Review stories and work with PMs in an agile environment
Our technology stack is Angular, AngularJS, REST, .NET (Web API amp; Entity Framework), Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, and Git.
