About the Role
Capella is currently seeking an RF Test amp; Verification Engineer to join our spacecraft production team in San Francisco, CA. The spacecraft production team is responsible for integration, test, and verification of everything that ultimately goes to space, as well as the supporting ground test infrastructure. You will be collaborating cross-functionally with RF systems design, ground software, mechanical, and spacecraft operations teams to deliver RF subsystems and verify RF performance at the spacecraft assembly level. This position provides growth opportunities for leadership roles within spacecraft production or to transition to Ramp;D.
Responsibilities:
- Own the verification and troubleshooting of RF subsystems through all phases of spacecraft production
- Bring-up and test of RF subassemblies
- Test automation scripting
- Test fixture development
- RF system budget maintenance and generation of performance predicts
- Vendor management (e.g. PCB assembly, RF purchased parts)
- Engineering documentation control (parts lists, drawings, procedures)
Requirements
- BSEE + 5 years related experience, or MSEE + 3 years related experience
- Advanced knowledge of RF test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and arbitrary waveform generators
- Knowledge of RF system architecture and impairments
- Knowledge of antenna properties and transmission line theory
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python
- Hands-on experience working with RF PCB-based circuits
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with high-power RF electronics
- Experience in space systems or other mission-critical field
- Familiarity with Linux systems
Required Qualifications:
- This position requires special access to conduct the work and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
