Job Description
Maveris is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join our elite and growing team. The Cyber Security Engineer will support a large Federal Government customer in the analysis and improvement of the customer’s Information Technology organization. The objective of this engagement is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization’s delivery of IT products and services by facilitating cohesive interaction and problem solving.
The Cyber Security Engineer analyzes the features and capabilities of networking and cyber security solutions (i.e. Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Email Security, Next Generation Firewalls, Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR). In this role, the Engineer will analyze and recommend modifications to security tool configurations and provide guidance on correlation of data for increased depth and breadth into enterprise security posture.

Requirements
- Review and analyze system configurations
- Collaborate with systems owners to develop effective configurations and strategies
- Develop business processes to provide collaboration amongst disparate solutions and solution owners
- Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results to provide post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Evaluate products according to specifications
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality
Preferred Education/Experience
- Experience implementing security standards based upon the NIST SP 800-series, RMF, and CSF
- Federal Government experience highly desired
- Experience with a variety of security solutions
- DLP, EDR, CASB, NGFW, Antivirus, CASB, Email security appliances, etc
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and DevSecOps
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail, analytical mind, and problem-solving aptitude
- Relevant industry certifications (i.e. CISSP)
