Job Description
AWS Administrator and Tools Admin will develop and support cloud-based infrastructure services, mostly with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Responsibilities:
- Creates and manages cloud compute, storage, and other cloud services in the system on AWS
- Creates automation for provisioning, decommissioning services, and security patching
- Understands and contributes solutions, along with identifying opportunities to reduce existing data center footprint through cloud-based solutions
- Estimates AWS costs and implementing cost optimization mechanisms
- Proactively stays abreast of new AWS offerings and services
- Works with Infrastructure and Development teams to assure quality project delivery and ongoing support
- Understands and provides solutions with a hybrid IT approach, along with identifying opportunities to reduce existing data center footprint through cloud-based solutions
- Maintains technical documentation for support and disaster recovery needs
- Meets or exceeds SLAs on resolving open help desk incidents or requests
Requirements
- System administration experience with Red Hat Linux and Windows Server is preferred
- Deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS
- Programming proficiency Python, Ruby, Go, etc.
- Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, and firewalls)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to adopt IT core competencies of collaboration, customer focus, accountability, responsiveness, continuous improvement, trust and respect
- Strong technical understanding of networking, security, system administration, and automation
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of security concepts with hands-on experience in implementing security controls and compliance requirements
- Ability to translate architectural requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system availability and performance issues
- Ability to maintain professionalism throughout business dealing particularly when challenged
- An excitement to learn new technologies
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s (4-year) degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology or equivalent experience
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate Certification - preferred
