Job Description

Droplette is revolutionizing drug delivery: we are building a disruptive needle-free platform technology with groundbreaking applications in cosmetics, gene delivery, and healthcare.

We’re looking for an experienced hardware engineering leader to form the core of our hardware team: design, implement and verify electronics for our next-generation embedded-AI subsystems.You will work closely with our Ramp;D team and drive the product excellence by providing design and system improvement plans.

This position will be based in our headquarters located in Boston, MA. This is an onsite position.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage all product development and release efforts including electromechanical hardware, and embedded systems
  • Extensive experience working as the direct interface to contract manufacturers with a proven track record of new product introduction
  • Experience designing custom fixtures and test equipment for manufacturing end of line testing for electromechanical products
  • Prioritize tasks to drive our product development and launch roadmaps, including focusing on scope and cost impacts with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Develop strong processes that combine agility and scalability for integrating the various aspects of our products
  • Build productive teams through strong recruitment, mentoring and career management
  • Take charge of the delivery of projects within agreed to schedules and timelines
  • Work closely with product design and business teams on distilling and challenging functional requirements into technical designs that result in highly scalable and high-quality products

What We Seek:

  • Experience with electromechanical systems and with the commercialization of high volume consumer hardware products
  • Strong decision-making skills and intuition
  • Ability to act quickly while exercising sound judgment
  • Strong fundamental understanding of mechanics and embedded systems and experience in managing mechanical and embedded software engineers
  • Solid understanding of the product development lifecycle process, including analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies and deployment management
  • Experience with high-volume consumer electronics/electromechanical products
  • Experience in Agile / Lean development and testing automation methodologies as well as processes for software systems
  • Software development and programming knowledge is a plus
  • Proven leadership, communications and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and thorough, with an ability to facilitate scheduling among different levels of staff
  • Ability to anticipate problems and develop effective solutions
  • Experience in delivering quality finish products in cost competitive markets
  • Ability to corral and excite engineers from different disciplines who collaborate on tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, writing and inter-personal abilities, positive attitude, diplomacy and persuasiveness, analytical ability, judgment, and managerial skills
  • 5+ years of Director/VP-level engineering management and design experience in bringing leading products to market at successful companies,
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
