Role and Responsibilities

The Electrical Operations Manager reports directly to the Electrical Director and is responsible for the completion of the day to day activities involving the maintenance of onsite electrical equipment, including, but not limited to lighting systems, emergency generators, VFDs, UPSs, transformers, LV and MV motors, and distribution gear.

This role will supervise, direct, and coordinate efforts of a substantial supervisor and technician workforce.

This position plays a key role with in ensuring that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met by maximize operating efficiencies and improving reliability of our equipment.

Essential Functions:

Work with the Facility Engineering, Fab Engineering and Maintenance Teams to drive continuous improvement to facility systems.

Drive compliance with site and corporate Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines

Maintain proper inventories of required spares in order to provide efficient operations.

Assist technicians in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.

Responsible in the selection of new hires, employee coaching and disciplinary issues for operations team.

Prepares and maintains maintenance reports (including equipment metrics), project scope, and spending request documents. Makes recommendations where applicable.

Evaluate, develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for facility equipment and systems operations. Focus on elimination of non-standard work.

Assist in identification of building improvements and equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability, maintainability and operability of the facility.

Train and develop maintenance personnel to improve the safety and technical skills through effective training in proper troubleshooting techniques and professional repair of equipment.

Prepare maintenance budget and secures estimates and cost quotes as needed.

Arranges for, coordinates, and manages appropriate third-party contractor support as needed.

Lead the on time completion of all electrical maintenance activities per company standards

Devise and implement cost saving strategies.

Manage the QA/QC process for all new electrical equipment installations.

Daily use of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage assets and maintenance schedules.

Job Specification

Competencies/Experience Needed:

Experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives, with the ability to lead a team to a high level of safety performance.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Thorough critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity

High standard of integrity and professionalism.

Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment, and work effectively as a team player throughout the plant with individuals and various plant teams.

Must have strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.

Supervisory Responsibility:

The electrical operations manager will have several technician supervisors reporting directly to them and also supervise the activities of our ABM contractor workforce.

Work Environment:

This position requires office work along with onsite inspections and supervision throughout the site including electrical rooms, mechanical spaces, and cleanroom spaces.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.

The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to stand.

The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Skills and Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

7+years of related experience

Proven experience leading a multi-functional technician team.

Knowledge of TPM / Maintenance Excellence programs including Asset Management, Breakdown Analysis, FMEA and Reliability Centered Maintenance.

Strong knowledge of plant/OSHA health and safety standards and compliance, and a fundamental understanding of applicable governmental regulations.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor of Science or Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Electrical Maintenance or similar degree program or equivalent years of demonstrated knowledge in a large industrial/maintenance environment.

Experience supporting semiconductor, solar, battery other manufacturing facilities is preferred.

Understanding of financial analysis and relevant business drivers.

Applying industrial electrical best practices and regulatory codes including NFPA70 and NFPA70E and working knowledge of electrical (power and control systems).

Detailed working knowledge of industrial power distribution systems design, maintenance and electrical power monitoring equipment.
