The role

We are looking for a talented General Manager to help us build, frame, lead and grow our business in the U.S., including establishing our presence and growing our team. In collaboration with the team, you are expected to own the end-to-end experience and grow our footprint in the U.S. market.

As a General Manager, you will own the end-to-end customer experience in the U.S. You will work closely with Category Managers and Marketing Managers to define, develop and lead marketing strategies tailored to U.S. customers. You will help constantly improve the shopping experience in our web store and mobile app through product breadth, pricing, promotions, positioning, communication, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to be an instrumental part of a high-growth global e-commerce company.

This is a highly visible role with the following key responsibilities:

  • Define the U.S. customer acquisition and retention strategies, focusing on digital marketing channels.
  • Develop and execute online marketing strategies, tailored and localized for the U.S. market.
  • Ensure that all strategies, campaigns, and operations are tailored to the U.S. market, taking into account U.S. customer preferences.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to establish trust and drive productivity improvements.
  • Work closely with our global team members, including Category Managers, Marketing Managers, Creative Managers, and channel owners.
  • Proactively recommend and implement opportunities to improve internal tools and processes.
  • Work well both within your team and cross-functionally.
  • Various ad-hoc tasks in line with your role and the U.S. expansion.

We would like to see evidence of the following in your profile:

  • Excellent academic records with a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Engineering (MBA from a globally leading institution is a plus).
  • 5+ years experience with a proven track record of establishing and/or running an e-commerce business or other fast-paced, consumer-facing business in the U.S.
  • You are familiar with the U.S. market and know the ins and outs of successful strategies and operations.
  • You have a general understanding of financial analysis, marketing strategies, external agreements, and partnerships with stakeholders.
  • You have a great understanding of how a successful e-commerce business operates and what functions are critical for scalable expansion.
  • Excellent, proven organizational skills, including strong attention to detail and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong listening and superior relationship-building skills.
  • High intellectual curiosity drive, determination, self-confidence, and communication skills.
