Sr. Construction Project Manager

JLM is seeking a Project Manager with water/wastewater experience to join a major construction project in Phoenix, AZ. This is a great opportunity to work for a leading firm in the industry as well as develop professional growth. The candidate for this position should be able to perform the following:

Responsibility:

• Manages all aspects of the project, including construction, budget, and cash management for assigned projects to ensure compliance with the project contract and customer needs.
• Develops and manages the project schedule, pay estimates, project procedures, staffing requirements, and equipment resources needed to complete accurate and timely project production.
• Assesses initial project contract and supporting documents for completeness. Works with customer to resolve specification, contract conflict and scheduling issues.
• Promote and enforce electricians and subcontractor’s compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
• Mentor and coach foremen as it relates to company policies and procedures and work requirements.
• Conduct and/or direct project safety meetings.
• Supervise foremen assigned to area of responsibility and provide liaison between field and office to ensure compliance of construction with drawings and specifications.
• Plan, direct and supervise workers engaged in electrical construction. Activities include planning, organizing, directing, and controlling methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, work schedule and reviewing documentation.
• Coordinate assigned work with work of electricians, company departments, or other subcontractors.
• Inspect work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used.
• Ensure that workers are supplied with tools, materials, and equipment for completion of project.
• Assist in jobsite setup.
• Resolve construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.
• Maintain liaison with other departments (internal and external) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support electrical activities and project schedule.
• Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules.
• Ensure workers for each task are fully qualified to perform assigned duties.
• Coordinate sub-contractors onsite

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 7 years of construction
• field experience and/or training
• Or 10 years of electrical construction related experience and/or training
• Management experience of small to medium sized teams required
• Expert knowledge of tool amp; equipment safety
• Experience in Pursuing amp; Managing Alternative Deliver Type Projects (such as CM at Risk, Job Order Contracting, and Design-Build)
• Wet Utility and Water / Wastewater Plant experience (including pipelines in public ROW and lift station, booster pump station, W amp; WW treatment, well development, recharge, etc.)
• Wet Utility Pipeline and Horizontal Street and Roadway Grade / Pave / Concrete Flatwork type of experience
