illumis is growing fast. We’re looking for an undergraduate or graduate student eager to apply their technical skills in a business setting.
About you:
You’re someone who loves to learn and constantly get better at what you do. We’re looking for a team member who’s excited about the incredible opportunities public data can offer. We hope you’re curious, tenacious, and that you want to join a team of folks working hard on hard, important problems. You are familiar with Python and web frameworks and have some experience writing code.
About the Role:
The Data Development/Engineer Intern will be responsible for research projects cataloging and analyzing public data resources to identify different potential sources of public records data.
The role will focus on finding and sourcing different kinds of data sets pursuant to product needs and assisting with writing and testing data source queries. You’ll also be responsible for researching and producing reports on the data that is available in different areas. As is the case in startups, some challenges of the position can’t be anticipated -- you’ll help solve problems we don’t yet know exist.
This is a great chance for someone interested in public records data and open data to work with an early stage startup and to be involved in developing exciting products useful to our users that are built on top of public data sets. You’ll have a chance to broadly explore the world of open data and to work with us in developing products built around it.
NOTE: This is a full time position, and we hope you'll be ready to commit at least 10 weeks. Short of that, we don't think it will be a worthwhile learning experience for you.
