Rising is seeking a full-time Triage Nurse to assess injured workers' injury severity, extent of disability, treatment plans, functional abilities and physical job requirements. This is a remote (work-from-home) position that can be located anywhere in the U.S.
Whether you are an experienced triage nurse within workers' compensation or you are looking to move away from bedside nursing and use your skills in a team-oriented and fast-paced administrative setting, we would love to hear from you! As a Triage Nurse, your main responsibilities will include:
- Establishing collaborative relationships and working as an intermediary between clients, patients, employers, providers, and attorneys.
- Utilizing sound clinical judgment, careful listening, and critical thinking and assessment skills.
- Responding to various written and telephonic inquiries regarding status of case.
- Posting case facts in Rising’s system, as well as the client’s claims system when appropriate.
- Assisting with tracking of high risk, high cost and complex patients by assessing the injured/disabled individual’s needs.
- Promoting quality, cost effective care throughout the health continuum to ensure the injured/disabled individual is able to return to an optimal level of work and functioning.
Requirements
- Active and unencumbered professional nurse license (RN or LPN)
- 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience or 2 years of case management or Utilization Review (UR) experience
- CCMC, CMAC, CRRN, CDMS or COHN preferred
- Experience with Workers’ Compensation, short-term or long-term disability, or liability claims preferred
- Bill review experience with Workers’ Compensation, Auto and/or Health Insurance carriers a plus
