The Child and Youth Mentor (CYM) will provide therapeutic support in the home and/or community and clinic setting. This service will typically be with individuals diagnosed with autism and/or other developmental disabilities. You will build strong rapport with the client and any involved caregivers or family members by communicating effectively, maintaining a positive attitude, being respectful, and exhibiting empathy and a desire to help. The CYM will provide guidance to help the client with self-care, building life skills, and learning self-advocacy. You will be a part of a multidisciplinary team that work towards common goals with the entire family. Driving to and from locations with client may be required.
This is a part time position to start, with the potential to grow your caseload. Training provided at no cost for the right candidate! This position would be great for high school graduates, college students, moms/dads, teachers and more!

Child and Youth Mentor Duties/Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Communicate with supervisory staff.
- Stay client focused by allowing personal choice and treating participants with dignity and respect, provide a caring approach to participant needs (emotional, physical)
- Follow the instructions given by the office, family, and participants unless there is a safety issue.
- Make safety a priority
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications (provided at no cost)
- Provide personal care that may be required like feeding, dressing, toileting, bathing, lifting, transferring and administer and follow the company’s medication procedures.
- Prepare meals during the respite period and do light housekeeping as needed (based on individual need)
Child and Youth Mentor Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Patience and empathy

- Able to drive to clients’ homes at various times of day.

PayRate
$14 / hour
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
- Clean background and positive references
- Must be able to lift 40lbs, with the potential to run, squat, sit, stand, kneel and more
